A photographer & filmmaker

Capturing weddings & brands across South Wales — the way they really felt.

I'm Lewis — a Bridgend-based photographer and videographer working across Cardiff, Swansea, Newport and the wider South Wales area. My approach is calm, candid and conversational. The aim is photographs that look like memories, not magazine shoots.

About Lewis

Eight years chasing the light across South Wales.

Photography started as a hobby and turned into a calling somewhere around 2017. Since then I've shot couples and brands at venues from Bridgend to the Brecon Beacons, the Gower coastline to the Cardiff docks.

I work hard to be unobtrusive on the day and obsessively detailed in the edit. The result is a gallery that feels like the day did — and a film you'll actually rewatch.

Lewis was a calming presence on the day and the gallery is everything we hoped for. Worth every penny.

WHY CHOOSE LEWIS

Why couples choose me

My approach is documentary — which means no posing, no cheesy group shots unless you actually want them. I’m there to cover real moments as they happen: the nervous laugh before you walk in, the way your mum’s face crumbles when she sees you, the chaos of the first dance. The edit, the light, the look on someone’s face — none of it is staged.

Eight years of South Wales weddings means I know the venues, the light, and the timing. I’ve shot at Coed-y-Mwstwr, Hensol Castle, Fairyhill, Oldwalls Gower, Cardiff City Hall and dozens more. When you’re working somewhere for the first time, everything is a surprise. When you know it, you’re already in position before the moment happens.

Couples often say afterwards that they forgot I was there. That’s the goal. I move quietly, I read the room, and I’ll never pull you away from a conversation to get a shot. The camera is always ready — I’m just not making a scene about it.

Packages are flexible — photo only starts from £450, combined photo and film from £2,250, with no hidden extras bolted on at checkout. You’ll get a sneak preview gallery within 48 hours and your full edited gallery delivered within six weeks.

And when you book, you get me — every wedding, every time. I don’t send associates out in my place. If Lewis Hale Photo & Video is on your contract, Lewis Hale will be on your wedding day. No surprises, no substitutes.

Tell me about your day.
